HAIR CARE — HOW TO MAKE IT LAST
Washing. Wash every 10–14 wears, or sooner if you use heavy product. Fill a basin with cool to lukewarm water, submerge the hair and let it soak — never scrub, never wash in circles. Work sulphate-free shampoo down the hair shaft only. Keep shampoo off the lace and off the knots.
Conditioning. Condition every wash, mid-shaft to ends, avoiding the base of the wefts and the lace. Leave on 10–15 minutes. Once a month use a deep conditioning mask — human hair has no scalp feeding it oil, so moisture has to come from you.
Detangling. Always detangle before you wash, never while soaking wet and never bone dry. Start at the ends with a wide-tooth comb or your fingers and work upward in small sections toward the weft. If you hit a knot, add leave-in and work it loose — do not pull through it.
Heat styling. Always use a heat protectant. Keep tools at or below 350°F — higher heat is what breaks the curl pattern permanently. Curly and wave textures can be flat ironed straight and returned to pattern with water and a curl cream, but the fewer passes you make, the longer that stays true.
Curl maintenance. For Deep Wave and Deep Curl, refresh with a water and leave-in mix in a spray bottle. Scrunch upward, never brush a dry curl. Air dry or diffuse on low.
Nighttime protection. Braid or loosely twist the hair, then wrap in a silk or satin scarf, or sleep on a silk pillowcase. Cotton pulls moisture straight out of the hair.
Storage. Store on a wig stand or mannequin head — never folded in a drawer, never bagged while damp. Keep it out of direct sunlight. A satin bag inside a box is ideal for long storage.
Products we recommend. Sulphate-free shampoo, a moisturising conditioner, a leave-in spray, argan or a lightweight oil for the ends only, heat protectant, and mousse or curl cream for wave and curl textures. Avoid alcohol-heavy sprays and heavy silicones — both build up on the lace.
Longevity. Wash less than you think you need to. Keep heat low. Never sleep on it unwrapped. Oil the ends, not the roots.
